Duct tape flower pen picture tutorial

So first off u need to have the following materials:
-duct tape
-xacto knife or scissors
-cutting mat
-pen to build flower on
First thing u have to do is position tape on cutting mat to cut into squares that you will use for petals. I use the grid on the cutting mat as a stencil to cut the tape into even sizes a 2x2 square is
the perfect size for each petal. I use about 22 petals per flower.

After u have cut each square u will need to fold it twice to form a point also making sure to leave a small strip of tape exposed The first fold is made going up from the right corner leaving a L shape of tape exposed. The second fold is from the right corner brought down to form a point. When done correctly you will have a small strip of tape exposed at the bottom. Do this step 22 times to form all of your petals.
Next you will need to cut a piece for the "stem" of your flower for this pen I decided to use black I cut just a tiny bit longer than the pen See picture for where to measure your stem.
Roll your stem onto your pen now you are ready to start building your flower
After you have cut all of your petals and rolled your stem onto your pen you are ready to start building your flower. Your first "petal" is the center of your flower so try to make this one as tight as possible.
After that just start going around the center bud of the flower adding petals. I use the ending of one petal as the placement for my next petal keep going until you have used up all your petals. If your flower is not as full as like you can always add more petals to achieve the fullness you like.
When you are satisfied with the fullness of your flower cut three more squares to use as the leaves and to cover the base of the flower and protect the flower head from falling off the stem, make sure to use the same color as the stem.
Now admire your flower pen!!

Hope this tutorial is helpful for anyone interested in making a duct tape flower pen. Here are more examples pens i made with different colors. You don't have to stick to a solid color flower, you can also mix colored tapes and patterns to get a unique flower.
